The role
Morris Iemma Indoor Sports Centre are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable full-time Duty Manager to join our team.
This hands-on role is responsible for the day-day supervision of the Centre during rostered shifts and acts as the most senior staff member on site when the management team is unavailable. The Duty Manager plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the facility, leading and supporting casual staff, and delivering high-quality customer service to our patrons.
The successful application will support the coordination of weekend birthday party bookings, assist with administrative and reporting tasks and help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment for all users of the Centre.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Supervising the Centre and casual staff in the absence of the Management Team
- Ensure a positive customer experience through a high level of public relations and customer service to all users, including handling customer complaints and feedback.
- Providing leadership during weekend birthday party bookings and assisting with planning and setup
- Assisting with delivery of programs, competitions, and casual bookings.
- Completing end of shift reports and assisting with monthly administrative reporting.
- Responding to customer enquiries and providing information on programs, bookings, sport competitions and facility use.
- Performing POS and cash handling duties, including reconciling tills.
- Supporting the safety and presentation of the Centre, including reporting of hazards and facility issues.
- Assisting with the maintenance of sports competitions, including draws, results and team communication
- Supporting marketing and promotional activities as directed
- Providing general assistance across all areas of the Centre as required.

You will have
- Current First Aid Certificate.
- Working with children check.
- Experience in customer service environment and excellent customer service skills.
- Experience working in a recreational facility or similar environment.
- Experience in staff supervision.
- Experience using a Point of Sale system, reporting and balancing.
- Administration experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $69,728 (Grade D, Step1) + 12% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
