The role
CBCity is seeking an experienced Engineering Projects Lead to manage Roads and Stormwater maintenance across the Local Government Area. You’ll oversee works delivered by both internal teams and external contractors, ensuring compliance with legislation and Council standards while driving continuous improvement and delivering infrastructure outcomes the community can rely on.
This role is primarily based at Panania, with occasional travel to other Council sites.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Support the Coordinator Roads Operations in delivering effective maintenance programs.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members, customers, and the community.
- Ensure all works meet legislative, safety, and quality standards.
- Foster a positive, well-resourced, and high-performing team culture.
- Monitor work programs, address schedule changes, and drive timely project delivery.
- Apply sound engineering judgement to analyse issues and implement solutions.
- Prepare regular reports on progress and performance against service targets.
- Manage procurement activities in line with budget delegations.
- Develop and maintain cost and performance monitoring systems.
- Oversee GPT and Urban Stream maintenance cleaning contracts.
- Undertake additional duties as required to support operational objectives.

You will have
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Construction or equivalent experience.
- WH&S White Card and Class C driver’s licence.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting engineering plans for roadworks, drainage, and related projects.
- Ability to interpret and analyse technical and scientific data.
- Strong knowledge in project planning, cost estimation, and resource management.
- Experience coordinating multiple projects to maximise efficiency and resource use.
- Understanding of continuous learning principles, EEO, WHS and commitment to acting with integrity.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with a range of stakeholders.
The salary for this position is $115,347 (Grade I, Step 1) + Car Allowance + 12% super.
