The role
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Health and Fitness Trainer to join our Leisure and Aquatic Services team. In this dynamic role, you will lead and support members in their health and fitness journey, deliver Group Fitness classes along with individual and group training sessions, and primarily contribute to the high standards of our leisure facilities. You will play a critical part in promoting safe, engaging, and inclusive fitness programs that meet the needs of our diverse community.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
• Deliver Group Fitness classes and group training sessions, fitness assessments and personalised programs.
• Engage with members and encourage ongoing participation in health and fitness services.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and equipment functionality across gym spaces.
• Prepare and pack up class and session equipment, ensuring safe and clean use.
• Provide support to patrons and assist in supervision of the health club area.
• Ensure accurate and timely completion of documentation, including pre-exercise questionnaires.
• Work collaboratively with the Leisure and Aquatics team to meet service objectives.
• Report hazards or incidents and ensure safety and compliance with Council procedures.

You will have
• Certificate III in Fitness (minimum qualification).
• Current CPR and Senior First Aid Certificates.
• Working with Children Check.
• Fitness Australia Registration (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in customer-focused fitness delivery, including Group Fitness, Aqua classes and Yoga and Pilates.
• Ability to work independently, show initiative, and respond to changing work environments.
• Understanding of relevant regulations and standards for leisure and fitness facilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Desirable qualifications include Certificate IV in Fitness, Strength and Conditioning certification, and additional group fitness qualifications.
