The Role

We’re looking for a motivated, community-focused individual to join our team as a Casual Customer Service Officer at Birrong Leisure & Aquatic Centre. This is a great opportunity to work flexibly while delivering great service to the community of Canterbury-Bankstown.

 

You’ll be responsible for

  • Provide excellent customer service aligned with the Aquatics Customer Service Charter, handling enquiries and feedback professionally.
  • Accurately manage cash transactions, reconciliation, and secure cash handling.
  • Maintain organised, clean, and safe customer service and kiosk areas, including food handling and serving.
  • Oversee stock levels, presentation, and monthly stocktakes within budget.
  • Promote and sell products and memberships, achieving sales targets.
  • Coordinate centre bookings with team leaders and facility users.
  • Keep signage, promotional materials, and website information up to date.
  • Perform opening/closing duties and participate in relevant training.
  • Ensure compliance with Council policies and provide guidance to kiosk staff.

You will have:

  • First Aid, CPR, and food handling certificates
  • Enthusiasm, initiative, and ability to work independently and in teams
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and locations, including early mornings and weekends
  • Experience delivering quality customer service in public-facing roles
  • Strong written, verbal, and face-to-face communication skills
  • Ability to work with initiative and minimal supervision
  • Cash handling, POS, PC literacy, and admin skills
  • Effective communication with staff, customers, and stakeholders
  • Experience in sales, management, and stocktaking of retail items

 
The rate for this opportunity starts at $30.4756 per hour +  25% casual loading (Grade B, Step 1) + 12% super.
