The role

We are seeking a committed Work Health and Safety Business Partner to work closely with business units in developing, implementing, auditing, and continuously improving the organisation’s Safety Management System.
The role ensures compliance with WHS legislation and related standards, fostering a strong safety culture across the organisation.


This is a temporary full-time position, available until March 2026.

 

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Engage with staff and management to promote the Safety Management System

  • Identify and recommend improvements to safety documentation and workplace practices

  • Monitor and support achievement of lead and lag safety indicators

  • Support implementation of the Safety & Wellbeing Strategy and Action Plan

  • Assist in identifying and prioritising Safety & Wellbeing initiatives

  • Conduct industry research to drive operational safety improvements

  • Manage safety data and reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

  • Present Safety & Wellbeing data to managers and teams

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and codes of practice

  • Coordinate Return to Work functions, including plan development and liaising with medical providers

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in WHS or relevant equivalent experience

  • Valid Class C driver’s licence

  • Proven experience in implementing Safety Management System processes and procedures

  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, current trends, and industry best practices

  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation to support business needs

 

Desirable, but not essential: industry, trade, or health background; RTW Coordinator accreditation; experience with Workers Compensation Self Insurers Model; and Safety Management System auditing.

 

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $93,583 (Grade G, Step 1) + 12% Super.
Salary is negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
