The Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Project Manager to join our Asset Construction team. This position is responsible for delivering a range of capital works projects from concept through to completion, ensuring compliance with Council standards, timeframes, and budgets. The role will also involve leading multidisciplinary teams, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting continuous improvement in project delivery.
Duties will include but not be limited to:
- Manage implementation and contribute to the initiation and design of capital projects aligned with Council’s strategic plans.
- Oversee construction delivery via contractors, conducting site inspections and ensuring project governance.
- Perform contract administration including acting as Superintendent’s Representative and chairing project control groups and project status meetings.
- Develop tender documentation, lead evaluations, and manage contractor performance.
- Track project costs, timeframes, and risks using integrated scheduling tools like MS Project.
- Lead and mentor project team members to foster capability and performance.

You will have
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing complex multidisciplinary projects.
- Expertise in contract management, project planning, budgeting, and risk mitigation in the public sector.
- Proficiency in MS Project or similar project tools, with strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Class C Driver’s Licence and WHS construction induction certificate (White Card).
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills for diverse stakeholder engagement.
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $115,347 (Grade I, Step1) + 12% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
