The Role
CBCity is seeking a highly skilled and strategic leader to step into the influential role of Executive Manager – Office of the CEO. This is a new and unique opportunity to contribute to and provide critical operational and strategic support to the CEO, Mayor, and Councillors.
In this pivotal position, you will help shape and manage the implementation of key initiatives, drive strategic priorities, and ensure alignment with the CEO’s vision for a connected, responsive, and forward-thinking Council. You will oversee the daily operations of the Office of the CEO, ensuring a high level of coordination, communication, and delivery across a diverse portfolio of responsibilities.
With a strong focus on building internal and external relationships, this role plays a vital part in strengthening community engagement and enhancing Council’s visibility, influence, and impact. You will work in a dynamic environment where your leadership, judgement, and ability to anticipate and respond to emerging issues will directly support the success of CBCity's strategic agenda.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

Lead a high-performing team delivering strategic and operational support to the CEO, Mayor, and Councillors.

Oversee executive systems, workflows, and service delivery across the division.

Provide strategic leadership for Communications, Events, and Engagement aligned with the CEO’s vision.

Coordinate high-level communications, briefings, and reports, ensuring accuracy and timely approvals.

Act as the executive liaison, managing confidential matters and responding to emerging issues with professionalism and discretion.

Offer expert advice on complex policy, governance, and organisational issues to minimise risk.

Foster strong internal and external relationships and a culture of continuous improvement and performance excellence.

You will have

Tertiary qualifications in communications, media, marketing or a related field.

A valid driver’s licence.
-
Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate teams and achieve organisational goals.

Excellent written, verbal and analytical communication abilities.

Skilled in resolving complex issues through collaborative stakeholder engagement.
-
Experienced in conducting research and delivering innovative, timely advice and solutions.
-
Ability to produce high-quality work independently within deadlines.

Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously to successful completion.

Experience operating in politically sensitive environments.

Expertise in leading strategic communications, event management and engagement initiatives.
A postgraduate qualification in Management and a working knowledge of local government operations under the Local Government Act are desirable but not essential.
Salary is negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
